Kuwait Airways Halts All Flights After Iranian Attacks Disrupt Airport
In a statement cited by local media, the national carrier said the decision was made in response to “current circumstances” and in coordination with the country’s civil aviation authorities.
According to reports, the airline confirmed that affected flights would be rescheduled, with passengers to be informed of new departure times using contact details provided during booking.
The suspension follows an earlier announcement by Kuwaiti authorities that all flights at Kuwait International Airport were being halted and diverted after an Iranian drone strike damaged Terminal 1 and caused injuries, according to official statements.
Authorities said the attack led to significant disruption at the airport, prompting the activation of emergency procedures and temporary suspension of air traffic “until further notice.”
The escalation comes amid a broader regional exchange of strikes. According to reports, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said attacks targeting US-linked positions in Kuwait were carried out in response to an earlier US strike on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.
The situation has left aviation operations in Kuwait under severe strain as authorities continue to assess damage and security risks.
